The art museum off of Blue Ridge Road is not a far drive from downtown and NC State’s campus and a great way to spend summer time… and a great way to spend little to no money. You may choose to pay a fare to see a special exhibit, but generally admission is free to see the indoor art. But, let’s talk outdoor art and culture at the art museum.
NCAM has a concert venue, an outdoor movie area, and a park. Each of spot provides an all natural setting where you can enjoy the best of summer—whether it’s listening to live music, watching a great film under the stars, or taking a hike along the trails. And there are art installations along the trails for you to explore as you hike, walk, or take a break from your run.
I spend a few hours there this past Sunday, listening to podcasts and walking around. Even did some yoga in the green piped structure! Here are a few photos I snapped.
